During the 1950's I was introduced to Lionel's music through my cousin. Everytime Lionel would have a concert in New York the tickets were sold out! Throughout the years it was impossible to get good seats. I finally caught up with him a few years ago at his birthday celebration on broadway in New York. I could not believe what I saw in terms of performance. This man was awesome! Finally I caught up with him again and as you can see I got the best seat in the house. Lionel, I miss you!

Fate brought us together when Percy France hired me as a guest vocalist to work at Brooklyn's Flamingo Club. A fine bassist indeed! At 82 and still going strong. This year Leonard made my family connection to my second cousin Clark Monroe. Clark Monroe's Uptown was a famous jazz nightclub in Harlem during the 1940's and 50's. Clark also ran Kelly Stables Jazz Club and the Famous Door on West 52nd street later on in the 50's. Now I know why I love jazz so much. It's in my blood!

I met Carrie while on tour in Europe ten years ago in the 80's. In New York she starred in Black and Blue on Broadway along with Ruth Brown in the late 80's. She set the starge on fire! I was so proud and happy for my dear friend. She deserved to be on Broadway doing what she does best.

Jimmy Sigler, organist, songwriter, producer, singer and also the brother of Bunny Sigler. A great accompanist for singers. He was Dinah Washington's Music Director for many years. He still has the organ that Dinah gave he as a present. He wrote great songs for Patti Labelle, Phyllis Hyman, and the Spinners.

Producing my second recording project in 1990. James was the music director. This recording session was one of my favorites. We had Yuron Israel on drums, Dave Jackson on bass, Ed Jackson on Tenor Sax. What a blessing!

On that day I had a ball! I represented ISUZU auto dealership. Here with one of the executives. He taught me how to play that hugh drum pictured right behind him. It was no problem because I got good rhythm.

This DJ from Poughkeepsie, New York gave me a call one day said that he came across my two original recordings that was recorded in 1963. The One Boy and See You Later Lover song written for me by J.J. Jackson (But It's Alright hit). He wanted my autograph because he loved the songs so much!!!

Ms. Nina Simone 1971
I met this wonderful legendary singer when I was five years old. In 1956 she had her car garaged at 11 West 100th Street in New York. My father was the garage manager. She me encourage to take piano and vocal lessons because she felt that I had potential to make it in the music business.
